High Country KombuCha selected the PRIMS system to perform their scaling, batch control and ingredient lot tracking to become compliant with the FDA Bioterrorism Act. “The PRIMS system was easy to setup and use” says part-owner Ed Rothbauer. “We started with just the scaling system and we’re ready to migrate it to the entire operation. Focus Works was very responsive, quickly making any modifications we requested. We are performing batching, inventory and shipping with the PRIMS system.”

About KombuCha Tea: It's been called everything from wonder drink to ancient cure-all. But chances are most people have never heard of it. Eagle Valley, CO, residents Steve Dickman and Ed Rothbauer wanted to change all that.

The first recorded use of KombuCha comes from China in 223 B.C., during the Tsin Dynasty. It was known to them as "The Tea of Immortality." The brew got its name years later when a physician named Komba treated Japanese Emperor Inyko with the "cha," meaning tea. Hence: KombuCha.

"It was used for everything originally," said Rothbauer. "People in Northern Manchuria would use it on a day-to-day basis for nutritional vitality."

The two opened a business at Third and Broadway in Eagle, CO, called High Country KombuCha. There, using the PRIMS system to ensure product quality and consistency, they brew an elixir unlike anything else on the market.

Steve Dickman is co-owner of High Country KombuCha in Eagle, CO, which brews a tea that is said to have helped heal people of a variety of ailments.
